Research Assistant – India, West Bengal The International Potato Center (CIP) is looking for a proactive Research Assistant who will conduct standard tissue culture protocols, encompassing the preparation of growth media, sterilization of explants, and periodic subculturing.

Key responsibilities:

The selected candidate will mainly focus on these tasks/responsibilities below: • Perform routine tissue culture procedures, including media preparation, explant sterilization, and subculturing.

• Monitor and document the growth and development of tissue cultures. • Assist in the development and optimization of tissue culture protocols. • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tissue culture laboratory. • Support senior research staff with experiments and data analysis.

• Dispose of biohazardous materials in accordance with safety regulations. What are we looking for?

The selected candidate should have the following skills, knowledge, experience, and personal characteristics:

• Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Botany, or a related field.

• Some experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in tissue culture. • Basic understanding of aseptic techniques and laboratory practices. • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols accurately. • Good communication and teamwork skills.
