It applies quantitative analysis and behavioural economics to the analysis of how states comply with decisions of the European Court of Human Rights. The team will build on insights from behavioural economics, psychology, and social sciences to come up with new solutions which governments, communities and even individuals can employ in the future.Our main purpose is to establish how we can deter and minimise violations of human rights in the future.Read more about Human Rights Nudge here: www.humanrightsnudge.comAbout the roleThe Department of Political Science is seeking applications for one full-time research assistant or fellow. The position is part of the Human Rights Nudge Project, funded by the European Research Council and led by Dr Veronika Fikfak.The Research Assistant/Research Fellow will be responsible for dissemination of HRNUDGE results through country reports, best practices guide, and other policy papers. The Assistant/Fellow will work closely with other members of the team.The position is available from 1 August 2024 to the conclusion of the project on 28 Feb 2025. Part time, flexible and job share arrangements would be considered where possible.The salary for the research assistant position would be grade 6B £37,332 – £39,980 pa. The salary for the Research Fellow position would be at Grade 7 £42,099 – £46, 732 pa. Appointment to the Grade 7 Research Fellow role is dependent upon the successful completion of a PhD.About youThe postholder for a research assistant position would have a Master’s degree. We are open to degrees in different subjects, including Law, International Relations, Social Science. For a postdoctoral position, the post holder would have an academic qualifications such as a PhD, JSD or equivalent degree in the same areas as for the research assistant position.The postholder would have strong communication, organisational and team working skills, as well as research potential.
