This role will support a two year, UKRI funded project, to advance the development of a novel, real-time, point of care assay for the detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in clinical samples from animals and humans.In this role, you will:

The successful candidate will be based in the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Cardiff University, but will work closely with colleagues in the School of Engineering, Cardiff University (Centre for High Frequency Engineering, developing technology for rapid DNA release and capture), and the University of Aberystwyth (Centre of Excellence for Bovine TB, for supply and testing of real-world samples, and the Engineering Unit, developing novel photonics for DNA detection).We can offer you the chance to work in a vibrant organisation, with great benefits and opportunities for progression. Additional InformationThis two-year, interdisciplinary project brings together researchers from a range of field and institutions to address a real world problem, preventing the spread of human and bovine tuberculosis. Knowledge, Skills and Experience * An established expertise and proven portfolio of research and/or relevant industrial experience within one or more the following research fields:

Other * Proven ability to demonstrate creativity, innovation and team-working within work
Desirable experience * Experience of working with M.tuberculosis/ Category 3 pathogens
