Research Associate in Circular Robotic Manufacturing Job reference REQ240608 Date posted 12/07/2024 Application closing date 12/08/2024 Location Loughborough Package Specialist and Supporting Academic Research grade 6 from £33966 to £37099 Job descriptionWolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical, and Manufacturing EngineeringFull time, Fixed Term for 12 monthsWe are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Post-Doctoral Research Associate with strong interest in circular economy, Robotics, AI and vision systems, healthcare sustainability, remanufacturing and recycling to work on an exciting project which aims to develop a whole system circular approach to the design, use and end-of-life management of small medical devices (SMD).This post is as part of six research associate positions in this project. The postholder will be based at the Wolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering, Loughborough University campus and will lead work on developing a AI-based vision recognition for segregation of medical waste and a robotic cell to perform a range of tasks from ‘pick and place’ to ‘disassembly, refurbishment and remanufacturing’.You will have a PhD degree or equivalent in mechanical, electronic, robotic control engineering or any relevant discipline.
