Research Associate in Reacting Flows

A Research Associate position is available to investigate turbulent reacting flows and flame instabilities in complex geometries, and develop novel approaches for the analysis and quantification of uncertainty in such settings.You will conduct high-fidelity direct numerical simulations of Ammonia/Hydrogen flames using a state-of-the-art in-house code, and investigate how confinement, fuel composition and flame-turbulence-structure interactions influence the dynamics of fundamental flame instabilities.You should have, or be working towards, a PhD or equivalent in mathematics, physics, or engineering, specialising in computational fluid dynamics or a closely related discipline. Expertise in the development and analysis of numerical methods and code for research in fluid/continuum mechanics is essential. You should be capable of working under your own initiative.
