The post holder will also work closely with academics in The Department of Psychosis Studies (Professor Fiona Gaughran and Dr Toby Pillinger), one of the world’s leading centres for research into psychotic disorders.About the roleThe postholder will work on the MRC Hub for Metabolic Psychiatry. This is one of five Hubs across the UK comprising the UKRI Mental Health Platform. The postholder will be the main researcher for one of the workstreams titled: ‘Development and testing of novel metabolic interventions for serious mental illness (SMI) in collaboration with people with lived experience’.They will conduct a detailed scoping review of metabolic interventions in SMI; work with people with lived experience and clinicians to define research priorities and inform co-production and design of future metabolic interventions in SMI. They will assist in the further development, setup and running of pilot studies for two of these interventions. They will also be involved in the analysis of data, drafting publications, and taking part in knowledge exchange and dissemination activities.This is a full-time fixed term post for 2 years.About youTo be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:Essential criteria * PhD qualified in an area related to the cross-over between physical and mental health (or pending results)
Desirable criteria * Experience of co-production with people with lived experience of mental illness

In these circumstances the appointment will be made at Grade 5, spine point 30 with the title of Research Assistant.
