About the department:Doctoral Services provide strategic leadership for the University’s doctoral research activities and sits within the wider Directorate of Research and Innovation. The Doctoral Services team provides expertise on the administration and quality assurance of doctoral degrees; skills development for students and staff; enhancements to the student experience; and the promotion of research study and funding opportunities.Working in this team provides the opportunity to work across Manchester Met with both professional services and academic colleagues, as well as closely with our doctoral student community. You will have the opportunity to work across the full student journey as well as be involved in continuous improvement projects to support the development of our service.The role:We are seeking a professional, motivated, and proactive person to support a high-quality doctoral research experience. You will provide general administrative support for research degree students and academic staff and be a first point of contact for queries and resolutions. You will support maintenance of student records systems, provide data and support report creation as needed. You will support the management of complex student cases and also have the opportunity to be involved in continuous improvement project work.About you:We are looking for a person who:

  • is proactive and can show commitment to improving the experience of doctoral students.
  • has excellent attention to detail, communication skills and data handling skills.
  • has experience of delivering excellent customer services.
  • is able to provide administrative support in a professional environment.
  • is able to manage a complex and varied workload.
