The School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (EEECS) at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Research Fellow.

The successful candidate will be a highly productive, ambitious and collaborative member of the ‘’Realising Enabling Architectures and Solutions for Open Networks (REASON)’’ project. They will assist in the creation of a new generation of electromagnetic signal propagation manipulating tools, such as Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RISs) and Reconfigurable Intelligent Edges (RIEs), that will work as part of future open networks and they will become an active member of the Centre for Wireless Innovation and the School of EEECS at QUB, assisting in the production of world leading research output.

  
The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate you have:

  • Or are about to obtain, a PhD in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or closely related discipline
  • Substantial research experience in electromagnetic theory and antennas or related area 
  • Experience in designing reconfigurable arrays and surfaces (RIS, metasurface, or similar)
  • Evidence of strong publication record commensurate with stage of career
  • Evidence of an understanding of microwave and mm-wave reconfigurable circuits design and characterization.

This post is fixed term until 28 February 2025. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
