About us This research will be conducted in the Molecular Biology Development and Disease (MBDD) laboratory, within the Department of Preclinical and Fundamental Science at the UCL Institute of Cardiovascular Science (ICS). As part of the Faculty of Population Health Sciences and the wider School of Life and Medical Sciences (SLMS), the ICS fosters interdisciplinary research spanning discovery-based laboratory science, clinical, translation and experimental medicine as well as healthcare evaluation, implementation and policy.About the role A full-time Research Fellow is sought for a British Heart Foundation-funded project investigating a novel regulator of vascular function and its role in hypertension. This project builds upon prior findings from the Molecular Biology Development and Disease (MBDD) laboratory, demonstrating that constitutive POU4F2/Brn-3b in knockout (KO) mutants develop vascular abnormalities and contractile dysfunction arising from the dysregulation of genes involved in calcium signalling and stress responses, patterns frequently observed in human cardiovascular diseases (CVD).About you . PhD in Biomedical Sciences or other relevant subject
. A strong understanding of the principles of gene expression, specifically transcriptional regulation.
. Knowledge of transgenic models and experience with performing in-vivo procedures using such models
.
