About usA Research Fellow post is available working with Pearse Keane, Professor of Artificial Medical Intelligence, at the Institute of Ophthalmology at UCL.Professor Keane leads a multi-disciplinary research group of clinicians and scientists, focused on the development and application of AI in healthcare, using ophthalmology as an exemplar for other medical specialties.About the roleProf Keane is undertaking ongoing research on the development and application of AI advances in a clinical setting.The successful applicant will take the lead role on a project that will be exploring the use of foundation models in healthcare; address the limitations of incomplete of small datasets; and ensure that AI-enabled healthcare is robust, reliable, safe and fair.They will also develop research in the emerging field of ‘oculomics’.The post is funded from 1 August 2024 until 31 January 2026, in the first instance.Appointment as a Research Fellow at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD.
