About usThe mission of the Department of Clinical and Experimental Epilepsy is to transform the lives of people living with epilepsy for the better by identifying, understanding, and correcting or preventing the underlying mechanisms leading to the epilepsies and associated comorbidities in each individual person. Our vision is to build upon the excellence and breadth of our research, seamlessly integrating basic and clinical science.About the roleWe have an exciting opportunity for a Research Fellow to join the Lignani Research Group, based in the department, and use electrophysiology and molecular biology in human models of neurological diseases. You should have hands-on experience with iPSC-derived organoids as therapeutic models, electrophysiological measures of iPSC-derived neurons, and using CRISPR-Cas9 to genetically edit iPSC lines. Additionally, you should have experience in advanced molecular biology methods and neurological disease modelling.Proficiency in electrophysiological and imaging data processing, statistical analysis programs, and strong problem-solving skills with exceptional written and oral communication abilities are also essential.This role meets the eligibility requirements for a skilled worker certificate of sponsorship or a global talent visa under UK Visas and Immigration legislation.
