About us We are looking for an enthusiastic Postdoctoral Researcher to support our work in Rapid Magnetic Resonance Imaging with a particular focus on Fetal imaging. Our group has vast experience in development of rapid MRI techniques and on-line reconstructions in paediatric and adult populations. Importantly, our group has significant experience and a proven track record of translating new technologies into real world clinical practice. This post-holder will build on these tools, to develop novel real-time imaging techniques with rapid reconstruction both in 2D and 3D.About the role The post-holder will focus on the development of novel rapid imaging techniques. In particular, leveraging machine learning (ML) to aid optimisation of acquisition strategies, perform motion correction, enable low-latency reconstructions, and/or perform rapid online post-processing tools for Fetal imaging. The successful applicant will join a multi-disciplinary group of academics across UCL, with very close clinical links to one of the world-leading Fetal MRI services at UCLH Elizabet Garrett hospital. Our research group are leaders in the use of machine learning (ML) for reconstruction of MRI data, particularly in the field of low-latency imaging. This work will build on these tools to enable rapid visualisation and processing of Fetal images using ML, on the scanner in a clinical setting.About you The successful candidate will be expected to have excellent computational skills and to integrate with an enthusiastic multidisciplinary group of people with the aim of translating these techniques into the clinical arena. Therefore, the candidate is expected to have completed Ph.D. in physics, engineering or equivalent. Experience with MR physics, pulse sequences, image reconstruction, machine learning, or image post-processing are highly desired. The position allows for the unique combination of theoretical and practical aspects with the perspective of a fast and broad translation of the developed methodology in the clinical environment.The appointee will have a PhD or equivalent experience. If working towards a PhD, they can be close to completion of this degree. If a PhD is not yet awarded at the start date, appointment will be at Research Assistant grade 6B £37,332 – £39,980 per annum (including London Allowance of £5,000 per annum), with payment at grade 7 backdated to the date of submission of the final PhD thesis.This post if funded for up to 15 months depending on salary in the first instance.What we offer • 41 Days holiday (27 days annual leave 8 bank holiday and 6 closure days)
