About usThe UCL Division of Psychiatry, located within the Faculty of Brain Sciences, is a world-renowned centre of excellence in mental health research. Join our team and help us drive forward the field of mental health research and education.About the roleThe successful candidate will be based in the Epidemiology and Applied Clinical Research Department and they will work on two Wellcome- and NIHR-funded projects. As part of their role, they will lead on the statistical and epidemiological analyses of large-scale observational datasets and report findings in scientific manuscripts for publications. The successful candidate will be encouraged to pursue research projects aligned with their interests and will receive support for their career development.Appointment details:

  • The post is will be a Grade 7, the annual salary for which ranges from £43,124 to £51,610 (including London Allowance).
  • The appointment is available from 1st January 2025 and is funded until 31st December 2027.

Role specific details:

  • Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at Grade 6B (salary £38,357.00 per annum)

About youThe successful candidate will be responsible for conducting epidemiological research for two projects on mental health investigating: * Barriers in access to mental health services for Eating Disorders and care received in people from economically disadvantaged and ethnic minority backgrounds

  • The association between academic pressure and adolescent depression, anxiety, self-harm and suicide.

Both projects will involve the analysis of large and deeply phenotyped electronic health records (EHRs) with multiple clinical and geographical linkages. The postholder will analyse data from the Connected Bradford (project 1) , and the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) and Office for National Statistics (ONS) (project 2).Application process:
