About usThe Research Department of Primary Care and Population Health is part of the Institute of Epidemiology and Health Care and is co-led by Professor Greta Rait and Professor Kate Walters.The Department’s strategic aim is to deliver high-quality teaching in community-based primary care and public health and to undertake a programme of internationally competitive multi-disciplinary research addressing the management and prevention of disease in individuals and populations in areas which are of priority to the health of the public.Further information can be found at:About the roleThe National Institute for Health and Care Research Research Support Service hub delivered by Imperial College London, University College London, Queen Mary College London and King’s College London (NIHR RSS ICL and Partners) provides researchers with access to support, advice and expertise in the development and delivery of clinical and applied health and care research.This post provides a unique opportunity for a health researcher to work within the cross-institutional RSS team providing expertise in health research design, and advice, to support clinicians, health and social care professionals and academics to develop research grant and fellowship applications for applied health and social care funding.The post-holder will provide research design and methodological advice and support, advice on Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement, and training and resource development tailored to the needs of health and social care researchers.About youCandidates should be familiar with applied health research and academic environments and have research experience in mixed methods (qualitative and quantitative), and either the evaluation of complex interventions (Randomised Controlled Trials, feasibility, pilot or Implementation studies) or epidemiological methods in applied health research.Candidates should also have training and experience with Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) in health research, familiarity with the health research funding landscape in the UK, and exceptional organisational and interpersonal skillsApplication Details:
- This is a open-ended role with fixed-term funding until September 30th 2028 in the first instance.
- This role meets the eligibility requirements for a skilled worker certificate of sponsorship or a global talent visa under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore, UCL welcomes applications from international applicants who require a visa.
- Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent on award and confirmation of a PhD (or equivalent). If this is not the case, initial appointment will be at Research Assistant Grade 6B, point 28 (salary £39,980 per annum inclusive of London allowance) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis.
