Applications are sought for a Post-doctoral Research Fellow to work with Alison Beach conducting research for an AHRC-funded project entitled Word of Mouth: Embodied Stories of Premodern Women at Work. The primary duties will be to analyse human skeletal remains from archaeological assemblages as part of an interdisciplinary term of researchers.The successful applicant will have (or be near to completion of) a PhD in Osteoarchaeology (or a closely related subject and have commensurate professional or academic experience in osteoarchaeology) with expertise in applying osteological methods to determine sex, age at death, and stature. The successful applicant will also have a demonstrated skill in identifying, diagnosing, and interpreting skeletal evidence of congenital diseases and acquired diseases and injuries. Experience with medieval skeletal assemblages is desirable but not essential.Start date: 1st December 2024 or as soon as possible thereafterFixed term until 31/05/2029This a full-time post working 36.25 hours per week available on a fixed term contract until 31st May 2029; starting 1st December 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter.Employees of the University have access to a wide range of including:
