About usUCL Department of Chemical Engineering is one of the top research and teaching departments in the UK and has world-class standing. The department offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and has an extensive research portfolio across a wealth of areas, from molecular scale to complex systems.The position will be based in the Department of Chemical Engineering at UCL East and the Bloomsbury campus of UCL and we support hybrid working arrangements. The project is in collaboration with Industry and is funded by the Innovate UK. This position is within the Computer-aided Materials Discovery Laboratory led by Dr Peyman Z. Moghadam. The project aims at designing CO2 capture systems based on solid-adsorption separation.About the roleThe major role of the post holder will design an adsorption-based process/system for CO2 capture using COMSOL or gProms. The adsorption processes will be designed for temperature and pressure swing processes.Salary is £43,124 – £45,372 per annum inclusive of London Allowance.This is a fixed-term role until 31st March 2025.This appointment is subject to UCL Terms and Conditions of Service for Research and Professional Services Staff. Please visit for more information.About youThe candidate will contribute to writing high-quality research papers, and collaborate effectively with our industry partners. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Chemical Engineering, materials science or Chemistry and will have some experience in designing adsorption processes/systems.
