About usThe UCL Institute for Global Health (IGH) is at the heart of UCL’s Grand Challenge of Global Health. IGH aims to support the development of robust solutions to aspects of the world’s major global health challenges through scholarly outputs, education, public engagement, translational research, and ultimately by influencing public policy and professional practice.We are seeking a Research Fellow with interest and experience in health policy and systems research (HPSR) to contribute to a new project aiming to improve intersectoral policy for early childhood development in Argentina and Ghana. This NIHR-funded project is a collaboration between FLACSO (Argentina), the Centre for Learning and Childhood Development (Ghana) and UCL’s Institute for Global Health.Based within the Centre for Women’s, Children’s and Adolescents’ Health and under supervision of PI Professor Prost, the post-holder will be responsible for coordinating UCL’s project activities and providing support to project partners in Argentina.About the roleActivities will include drafting research protocols with partners, applying for ethical approvals, co-developing quantitative and qualitative data collection tools with FLACSO and CLCD, as well as supporting and/or carrying out data analysis, and drafting reports and communications. There will be opportunities for the successful candidate to develop their skills within the project.The successful candidate will be based at UCL in London but will be expected to work in Argentina and Ghana for up to two months per year spread in short visits.This is a full-time role (i.e. 36.5 hours per week) and it is available immediately until October 2029 in the first instance.A job description and person specification can be accessed at the bottom of this page.Salary range: £43,142 to £51,610 per annum (including London Allowance), depending on experience.If you have any queries about the role, please contact Professor Audrey Prost onIf you need reasonable adjustments or a more accessible format to apply for this job online or have any queries about the application process, please contact the IGH HR Team on .About youIt is essential that the successful candidate has a PhD or equivalent working experience in global health policy research (particularly HPSR), political science, economics, anthropology, sociology, epidemiology or a related discipline.The successful candidate will have experience of managing study processes from design to analysis and they will also have experience in conducting literature reviews, preparing reports and presentationsThe ideal candidate will have strong abilities to use word-processing, power point, MS Teams, and Nvivo, Dedoose or other qualitative coding software and excellent organisational skills with a careful and systematic approach to tasksThe role requires that the post holder is willing to travel internationally.What we offerAs well as the exciting opportunities this role presents, we also offer some great benefits, some of which are below:
