Our work uses large volumes of complex, heterogeneous, multi-dimensional and often unstructured health datasets. We are a diverse multidisciplinary team conducting high-quality and innovative research addressing complex health and social care challenges of the 21st century. We employ traditional statistical and epidemiological methods, alongside cutting-edge artificial intelligence algorithms to gain insights into real-world problems. This is combined with qualitative research to provide deeper understanding, insights and application of big data findings.We are seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated researcher to join our innovative and dynamic research group.About the roleThe postholder will join a successful, fast-paced and high-output interdisciplinary research group delivering School for Primary Care Research (SPCR), National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and United Kingdom Research and Innovation (UKRI) funded projects in populations with multiple long-term conditions (MLTC).You will be responsible for cleaning, planning and conducting longitudinal analysis of routine health data to establish health inequalities in disease resolution and the impact on trajectories of MLTC.The post is offered full-time for 12 months and will be available from 1st September 2024. To work at Aldermoor Health Centre or remotely as preferred by the applicant.About youThe postholder will have a PhD in epidemiology, medical/social statistics or a related subject. You will have experience of longitudinal quantitative data analysis (survival analysis, latent class analysis, trajectory analysis) using big data in health, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work at pace to deliver outputs within tight deadlines. Proficiency in the Stata and/or R is desirable.You must have experience in writing up findings for peer-reviewed publications. You will have the ability to distil complex ideas and concepts into clear, accessible and engaging written outputs for a range of audiences.You will be able to work to tight deadlines, manage your time independently, be flexible to accommodate project demands and be responsive to requests from line managers and other colleagues. You will possess excellent organisational skills and high professional standards.Applications for Research Fellow positions will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification. The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD.
