For example, passwordless authentication is growing in popularity, with mobile devices increasingly providing native support. There are interesting research challenges when users have access to a plethora of devices: How can such technologies provide secure and seamless authentication across devices in a robust way that is resilient to the recovery of users’ identity credentials and in the context of users delegating their credentials?During the project there will be opportunities to explore system architectures and the formal verification of future authentication technologies.The post holder will work in a world-class research environment at the Surrey Centre for Cyber Security, an Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Research recognised by the National Cyber Security Centre. The Centre’s research focus is on applied cryptography, protocols, identity and transactions, privacy and verification, and a range of cyber security topics.The post will also offer an excellent opportunity for a researcher to develop his/her/their own research agenda within the area of secure systems and to work collaboratively in a team with colleagues within the centre and internationally.The successful candidate will work under the direction of Professor Helen Treharne together with the support of other colleagues within the research centre and industry collaborators. Researchers with an interest in theoretical and formal aspects of secure systems are encouraged to apply.
