One deals with the design and characterization of novel integrated photonic components and the other in developing two new demonstrators using the novel photonic integrated circuits developed within the programme.About the roleThe Research Fellow will work on modulator design and develop the optical phase lock loop demonstrator. This will include using software packages such as CST studio, and laboratory work for fully testing the OPLL performances. The Research Fellow will also work on the characterization of the PATTERN devices at high frequency and develop the wireless transmission THz system. It will involve experimental characterization using probe stations and network analysers and design a >100 Gb/s wireless transmission experiment. The main duty of the post is producing new research around photonic integrated circuit and photonic system. This will include both simulation work in particular high frequency designs and experimental work through characterization and experimental system demonstrations. The role is available from 1st January 2025 until 31st August 2026 in the first instance.
