About usThe Research Department of Behavioural Science and Health is dedicated to research on how human behaviour impacts health and health outcomes, focusing on a broad range of public health issues. Specifically, the position will be within Prof. Daisy Fancourt’s Social Biobehavioural Research Group, which focuses on the impact of social factors on health, and Professor Andrew Steptoe’s Psychobiology Group which works on biological processes and behaviour. Further information can be found at:About the roleYou will be involved in the design, analysis and conduct of research linking psychosocial factors such as loneliness, social isolation, and positive wellbeing with biomarkers collected in large datasets across the world, including epigenetic markers of ageing, proteomic and metabolomic assays, and physiological indicators. You will also be responsible for maintaining the genetic repository of the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing (ELSA), and in the development and sharing of polygenic risk scores.Application Details:

)About youYou will have a PhD in epidemiology, quantitative social science, statistics or other relevant discipline, and a track record of original life course research using longitudinal datasets, leading to peer-reviewed publications. You should also have experience in working with advanced statistical methods, and knowledge of large-scale biomarker collection and analysis.
