The Centre contains a large number of statisticians and epidemiologists working on the design and analysis of studies of HIV infection. Researchers within the Centre apply multi-disciplinary research methods to generate an in-depth understanding of problems and their solutions in order to inform improvements in population health and guide policy. The post is funded until 31st March 2025 in the first instance and involves responsibility for statistical analysis relating to studies of multimorbidity and sleep disturbances in the Pharmacokinetic and clinical Observations in PeoPle over fiftY (POPPY) Study as well as analyses relating to other ongoing research studies within the Centre. The study recruitment and follow-up is co-ordinated at Imperial College London, with the statistical analysis centre being at UCL. Demographic, lifestyle, clinical and laboratory data from each POPPY study visit are captured electronically and are linked with historic longitudinal HIV data from two existing longitudinal cohorts of people with HIV (the UK Collaborative HIV Cohort (UK CHIC) study and the University College Dublin (UCD)-ID Cohort Study).NIHR HPRU in Blood-Borne and Sexually Transmitted InfectionsThe NIHR HPRU is a partnership between UCL and UKHSA. Researchers in the NIHR HPRU aim to conduct state-of-the art research on sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and blood-borne viruses (BBVs) to improve the health of the population and to help develop practical policy guidelines for those working in health protection. Research in the NIHR HPRU is structured around three main themes of risk and risk reduction, under-diagnosis, and the care and management of those diagnosed with infections. The culture of the NIHR HPRU is one of working across different disease areas, populations, and academic institutions with the aim of providing a legacy of world-leading public health research in the field.About the roleThe post-holder will be responsible for statistical analysis relating to multi-morbidity within the Pharmacokinetic and clinical Observations in PeoPle over fiftY (POPPY) Study as well as analyses relating to other new and ongoing research studies within the Centre.
