Research Fellowship in Anthropocene Biodiversity and in Societal Change

Research CentreAn Arts and Humanities research fellowship is available with the (LCAB) at the University of York. LCAB is funded by the Leverhulme Trust to increase knowledge of how the relationship between humanity and the natural world is changing. The Centre recognises biological gains as well as losses, and identifies the circumstances under which changes are perceived as positive or negative. It aims to understand and inform society’s response to these changes.LCAB represents a dynamic interdisciplinary environment where you will be able to collaborate with academics, researchers and postgraduates from a host of intellectual perspectives and disciplines. You will be a member of LCAB, plus an appropriate University Department.RoleWe seek an outstanding Arts and Humanities researcher to conduct innovative, collaborative and individual research in any area relevant to the Centre’s strategic research goals and .As well as working on your own research and outputs, you will provide guidance to other staff and students, and participate in the delivery of wider research projects. You will also be mentored to develop proposals for further funding (particularly independently-funded research fellowships).The fellowship is available full-time for 3 years (Grade 7 – £44,263 to £54,395 a year), based in York. We are particularly interested in existing Fellows who have secured funding from other schemes and wish to continue their work through an LCAB Fellowship.Skills, Experience & Qualifications neededWe are looking for researchers with a PhD and previous postdoctoral experience in the Arts and Humanities, and proven ability to work collaboratively, ideally with an interdisciplinary perspective. You will have an outstanding publication record, as well as:
Applicants should provide a brief outline of their proposed research (2 page maximum; font size 11 Arial) identifying, for example, key questions and approaches, justifying the goals and how they align with LCABs research remit.
