This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and hard-working nurse to join our existing team to undertake clinical research in respiratory diseases. You will primarily work on the delivery of the PANORAMIC trial that is delivered in the primary care setting, contacting trial participants, ensuring safety monitoring is carried out to the highest standards. PANORAMIC is a national trial of Covid-19 treatments in the community, which aims to reduce recovery time and prevent hospital admission. You will be based at the Oxford Respiratory Trials Unit (ORTU), Churchill Hospital site, OX3 7LE You may also be asked to support other Respiratory trials run by ORTU.
The post holder will be responsible for planning and coordinating your day-to-day work in collaboration with both the management and research team, to undertake study procedures in line with the research protocol. They will be expected to ensure that patients are advised and understand fully all the details of the trial, extend this information to both family members and treating clinicians as appropriate dependant on the study. They will be a supporting member of the team who assists with studies running across the department as needed and helping the Trial Team in the event of inspection from a regulatory and/or monitoring authority. It is essential for post holders to have the following:
- Ability to work accurately to procedures and protocols.
- Ability to pay attention to detail and keep comprehensive records.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Able to prioritise and manage own work.
You will be NMC Registered Adult Nurse, with HCPC/ RCCP registration or have considerable experience of nursing patients with respiratory disorders. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. It is desirable to have Venepuncture skills and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training.
The post is full time (part time considered) and fixed term until 31/03/2024.
