We have an immediate opening for a Research Scientist / Senior Research scientist with a background in paediatric Pharmacokinetics. The candidate should have working familiarity with physiologically based pharmacokinetic modelling.The successful candidate will join an internationally recognised, multidisciplinary research team, providing opportunities for further development of knowledge and skills. The successful candidate will undertake novel research projects to further expand the capabilities of the Simcyp Paediatric Simulator that requires a high level of attention to details, good oral and written communication skills, and the ability to liaise effectively with the Software developers. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to provide on-going customer support and education and training related to the use of the Simulators and to act as tutor and lead the workshop programme. The post does not include routine laboratory or clinical work.We offer a unique and exciting mix of academic and commercial environments which encourage regular attendance at scientific meetings as part of our continuous education programs.ResponsibilitiesEssential
- PhD (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field with several years of practical experience.
- Knowledge of PBPK approach and physiological changes that affect pharmacokinetic in children.
- Knowledge of PK/PD properties of small and/or large molecules.
- Demonstrable communication skills, as evident by presentation at scientific meetings, and good interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Track record of publications in peer-reviewed literature.
QualificationsDesirable
- Experience of managing other scientists.
- Good understanding of modelling and simulation principles of physiological and biological systems and parameter estimation techniques.
- Experience working in drug discovery/development within the Pharmaceutical industry.
- Knowledge of in vitro assays used in drug metabolism, transport, and pharmacokinetic studies and their application in IVIVE approaches.
