This new role will play a key role in ensuring data integrity within our core IT systems and provide support and training to users of the University’s Research Information System (RIS), which underpins the delivery of our ambitious strategic research growth aspirations.

As a key part of the Research Systems and Business Improvement team, the role holder will liaise with key internal stakeholders including Schools/Faculties, Libraries, HR, Finance and Digital Technology Services (DTS) and work with colleagues in central teams to support the implementation of the University’s Digital Core programme and the effective transfer and recording of accurate research data within the university’s IT systems and linked websites.

A key focus for the role will be on benefits realisation: ensuring that our research systems are configured to support and enable research activity, are an integral part of our core processes and can be adapted to support future requirements. In parallel to this, the role holder will also play a pivotal role in maintaining and utilising research data assets to support performance management, reporting and business planning activities, whilst ensuring data integrity and compliance with university policies and statutory requirements.

In addition, as a member of the Research Systems and Business Improvement team, the role holder will act as a point of contact for complex queries regarding RIS from across the research community, help to resolve issues involving system access, permissions or data quality and support the delivery of the RIS Roadmap and agreed business change initiatives –  ensuring appropriate stakeholder engagement, data integrity, communications and user testing to optimise the successful launch and usage of new initiatives and system developments.

This is a new role within the University’s Research and Innovation (R&I) Division, which will help to complement our existing business strengths and support the ambitious research growth plans of the University and our Research & Knowledge Exchange Strategic Delivery Plans. We aspire to bring together enthusiastic and dedicated people, who are motivated to help drive a step change in our research and knowledge exchange (KE) performance and through business partnering with other central teams, Faculties and Professional Services colleagues improve the day to day delivery of our core research functions.

This position is offered on a permanent basis. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week). Job share arrangements would be considered.
