Applications are invited for a research technician to work on an externally funded research project. This full-time post is available for up to 54 months, fixed term to 31 December 2028. The project aims to explore the impact of melanin on human skin.You will join The Centre for Dermatology Research (part of the Division of Musculoskeletal and Dermatological Sciences) and provide technical support to this research project. You will be required to attend the Dermatopharmacology Unit based in Salford Royal Teaching Hospital for the purpose of collecting volunteer samples for the study. The sample processing will be carried out within the research laboratories of the Stopford Building. You will interact with postdoctoral researchers and postgraduate students, as well as contribute to the management of the laboratory.The essential criteria for this position include previous experience of: working with human tissue samples; interacting with clinical colleagues and study volunteers; experience with fibroblast and keratinocyte cell culture, and preparation of histological samples and their subsequent interrogation using histological or immunological staining methods. Training on specialist project-specific techniques will be provided.What you will get in return:
