This role will also work closely with the University’s award-winning Careers/Professional Development Centre (PDC) team.This is an important role for the Graduate School and PDC, and offers the opportunity to bring your own ideas to further develop and shape the researcher-specific careers provision, providing sector leading careers support to our doctoral and postdoctoral researchers.Your role will be varied, including one-to-one guidance, coaching, and the design of careers workshops and events, both face to face and on-line. Working creatively with various internal and external stakeholders (e.g. academic colleagues), you will support career development initiatives aligned with the Researcher Development Concordat. You will be interested in exploring and developing digital career modules for on-line provision and in increasing awareness of employment opportunities for researchers. Educated to at least degree level, with an appropriate postgraduate level qualification, you will have in-depth experience of careers guidance / coaching in a higher education setting and understand the (post)graduate recruitment market.Strong networking, communication and presentation skills are essential, along with the ability to encourage researchers to develop their skills and explore a breadth of employment options nationally and internationally.
