This role will be based on the University campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

The University of Leeds is one of the top 135 universities in the world.  We have a truly global community, with more than 39,000 students from 170 different countries and over 9,000 staff of 100 different nationalities. Established in 1904, we have a strong tradition of academic excellence, reflected in first-class student education, along with world-leading research that has a real impact around the globe.

In this role, you will support the delivery of provision aligned to our Researcher Career Development. You will work with those involved in delivering research (staff and postgraduate researchers) to embed a positive, inclusive and collaborative culture. Working as part of the team, you will design and deliver workshops, webinars and advice sessions on a range of career development activities. You will also contribute to resources and development opportunities offered by our other professional services to deliver against the Researcher Development Concordat and our Research Culture strategy/action plans.

You will be part of the Researcher Development and Culture team within Academic Practice in the Organisational and Professional Learning Department (OD&PL). Our portfolio supports the delivery of the University’s strategy for Research and Innovation.  This encompasses tailored provision for postgraduate researchers and supervisors; programmes for Early Career staff including Post-Doctoral researchers and fellowships; and continuing professional development for essential research practice such as Research Leadership, Responsible Research, Open Research and Research Impact, and career development and recognition.

You will have excellent facilitation, interpersonal and professional learning design skills, plus relevant experience and knowledge to enable you to provide effective development to researchers, staff supporting research and postgraduate researchers (PGRs). You will also have knowledge and experience of interpreting and responding to the requirements of research funding bodies and other external stakeholders, as well as an understanding of local and national CPD frameworks, such as the Researcher Development Concordat, Vitae Researcher Development Framework, the Good Supervisory Practice Framework and the Professional Standards Framework for Learning and Teaching.
