Our work culture includes a dynamic mix of professionals, with a diversity of skills and expertise.We are hiring a reservoir engineer in our MacKay River Subsurface Engineering team!In this role, you will provide stewardship of subsurface process safety, optimization of the MacKay River depletion plans, production forecasting to support investment decisions, and well pad design and design optimization to deliver the highest value development plan.Minimum Requirements:

• B.Sc. in Engineering or Geoscience
• Previous In Situ experience
• Reservoir Engineering subsurface technical skillset
• Strong business acumen – understanding of project economics and value drivers
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Cross-functional collaboration skills able to work with diverse disciplines and perspectives
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present ideas and results to all levels of management
• Registered or immediately eligible for registration, with the association of professional engineers and geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA)

Responsibilities:

• Production forecasting for SAGD well pads to support budgeting, development planning, and investment decisions
• SAGD scheme optimization and operations support
• Collaborate effectively a part of an integrated team with Development, Geoscience, Production Engineering, Regulatory, Projects, Process Engineering, Drilling, Completions, Logistics and Operations teams to safely design and execute SAGD well pad and brownfield projects
• Identify potential bottlenecks or challenges based on issues such as steam and natural gas availability, artificial lift, wellbore design and well integrity
• Prepare regulatory submissions
• Develop and improve technical processes

Location and other Key Details:

• You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
• Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
