About the role

Pay Details: Grade 8: £37,280 – £40,777 (£19.32 – £21.14 per hour)
Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 37 hours per week
Main Place of Work: Civic Office / Home working Temporary Reason: Grant funded, 2 year project, June 2026 – May 2028

Description

  • Assist in the delivery of the Restore the Thaw Landscape project, this will include a range of habitat enhancement project work involving both terrestrial and riparian landscapes.
  • To assist with monitoring information for performance plans, monitoring reports, financial returns, grant claims and project evaluation related to the Restore the Thaw Landscape project.
  • To work with the Project manager to establish a collaborative network of partner organizations to create biodiversity enhancements identified in the Restore the Thaw Landscape project plan.
  • To carry out practical conservation and improvement tasks and to survey and monitor the ecology within the Restore the Thaw Landscape catchment area, in partnership with third party organizations and landowners.
  • To develop relationships with local communities, understand opportunities for engagement and identify & implement volunteering opportunities.
  • To develop and deliver a programme of public engagement activities which will include citizen science and school projects, walks, talks and training.
  • To be responsible for all volunteers engaged in the project.

About you

You will need

  • Proven experience of working with a range of organisations
  • Experience of the practical implementation of conservation works in urban and rural settings
  • Experience of supporting volunteers and in planning and delivering community engagement events.
  • Experience of partnership working, especially in relation to biodiversity /conservation work
  • Good ecological knowledge including knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Wildlife survey experience including citizen science surveys.
  • Ability to build relationships and work effectively with a range of organisations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to a wide audience who possess a range of knowledge and experience.
  • Appropriate professional qualification at degree level in ecology or environmental science (or a combination)
