ASICS EngineeringGeneral Summary:Qualcomm’s Connectivity functional verification team is looking for an enthusiastic new team member to participate in the pre-silicon verification of high performance RFICs for WIFI radio and personal navigation applications.Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
OR
Master’s degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field.Responsibilities include:

  • Based on analog circuit design, developing, and debugging behavioral models for event driven simulation, as well as models for mixed signal simulation.
  • Developing and maintaining self-checking test benches.
  • Define and develop test coverages and test sequences for design verification
  • Maintaining scripts that streamline release of netlists and generation of programming instructions.
  • Diagnosing failed tests.
  • Verifying chip level functionality, tracking result, and logging bugs.
  • Participate in methodology development.

Skills/Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in digital design or functional verification, preferably of RF or mixed signal chips.
  • Solid understanding of RF-analog circuit design
  • Solid understanding of digital logic design
  • Solid knowledge of behavioral modeling
  • Working knowledge of Cadence’s AMS designers/XCelium (setup, netlisting, error messages…).
  • Proficient at System Verilog.
  • Proficient at scripting, preferably with Python, Perl, C-Shell and Cadence SKILL
  • Familiarity with serial bus interfaces, register controllers, and state machines.
  • Familiarity with RF transceiver architectures, phase lock loops (PLLs), analog-to-digital converters, and digital-to-analog converters (ADCs and DACs) would be extremely helpful.
  • Familiarity with verification methodologies like UVM are a plus.

Education:

  • A master’s degree, or higher, in EE and/or computer science, or equivalent experience is preferred
