The Rights Management team sits within Warner Recorded Music Global Operations (WRMGO) group. As a team we oversee all aspects of rights data ingestion, metadata quality, entry and dissemination at WMG. Be part of a team that not only enters, analyses and coordinates data accuracy, but also registers and ensures accurate availability of WMG’s Recorded Music rights worldwide.Your role:This role will primarily involve ensuring all our recording assets comply with various collection societies’ data standards, so WMG can maximise the revenue we receive from public performance. As we continue to integrate with the exciting new global neighbouring rights portal feed, you will also be involved in new processes to analyse the accuracy of our recording assets. This could also involve assisting in testing and optimizing the metadata quality in the feed, suggesting development changes, whilst all the time working confidently with large volumes of data accurately. The role may also involve assisting both the Rights Management team and the Product Data Management teams with other adhoc projects related to rights metadata ingestion, registration, and maintainance.Here you’ll get to:

  • Work within the Rights Management team to review asset metadata and request necessary changes to ensure 100% data standard compliance for both neighbouring rights registration purposes, but also for internal and industry standards
  • Assist with neighboring rights claim registration and conflict resolution; direct as necessary to the relevant teams to ensure prompt handling
  • Collaborate with implementing process changes around management of track analysis, communication flows and metadata compliance as we transition to more affiliates and societies onboarding to RDx
  • Manage any required metadata adjustments within our label copy system (GCDM) to ensure proper registration of rights holder informaton
  • Build relationships with our global Business Affairs teams to source accurate contractual neighbouring rights obligations
  • Build relationships with the Warner affiliates to ensure they enter our repertoire correctly to enable accurate registration
  • Provide assistance with GCDM metadata accuracy projects, department wide initiatives and support work for the Rights Management and PDM UK and US teams as necessary

About you:

  • You are educated to a minimum A-level standard (with good academic grades)
  • You are passionate about being highly organised with an excellent consistent level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • You excel in prioritising tasks effectively, and work well under pressure and to strict deadlines
  • You are able to take initiative and responsibility over own workload while working within the goals of the team, and as part of a team environment
  • You are proactive in seeking out new projects and looking for new ways to maximize our neighboring rights income
  • You have experience of managing data and strong analytical skills
  • You have demonstrated excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • You are computer proficient in Google Suite applications and spreadsheet applications suchs as Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets

We’d love it if you also had:

  • Working knowledge or metadata experience in the neighbouring rights industry and/or recording music industry
  • You have demonstrated a track record of consistent and high-quality delivery in a music metadata management environment
  • Ability to manage metadata related projects
