POSTING DATE: December 5, 2024 POSTING #514-24 (CUPE Service)EXPIRY DATE: December 12, 2024HURON PERTH HEALTHCARE ALLIANCENOTICE OF VACANCYPOSITION: REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSE, Inpatient UnitPrimary Site: St. Marys and StratfordCasual(Shifts: 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, may be subject to change)REPORTS TO: Manager, Emergency Department and Inpatient Unit – St. MarysDATE REQUIRED: As soon as possibleSALARY: $35.99 to $38.16 per hourQUALIFICATIONS:– Degree or diploma from a recognized and accredited College/University– Current Registration and Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario– Basic Life Support certificate (BLS)– Advanced Cardiac Life Support certificate preferred– Education related to geriatric care preferred (ex. Gentle Persuasive Approaches)EXPERIENCE:– IV drug administration– Insertion of Gastric tubes– Flushing of PRN adaptors– Subcutaneous portal insertion and drug administration– Minimum of two (2) years related nursing experience preferredSKILLS/ABILITIES:– Demonstrated ability to manage a mixed inpatient caseload including acute care, complex continuing care, rehabilitation, paediatrics and palliative– Demonstrated ability to work on an interdisciplinary team including community partners– Well-developed verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills– Ability to plan, organize and problem solve– Demonstrated commitment to ongoing continuing education– Working knowledge of Meditech Information System and personal computer applications– Able to meet the physical demands of the position**Applicants may be eligible for Canada Student Loan Forgiveness and Tuition Support Program for Nurses programs**Please be advised that we are no longer accepting emailed or paper-based resumes.
