(Y)Our OpportunityAre you passionate about ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people?Do you have experience of safeguarding and child protection?Broadfield Primary Academy are looking to appoint a Safeguarding and Attendance Officer to join our growing safeguarding team. This role is at the heart of the school and will be a leader with excellent communication skills, an ability to prioritise and a resilience to tough conversations when they arise.The Safeguarding and Attendance Officer will participate in strategy discussions, engage in inter-agency meetings, and contribute to the assessment of children. As the Safeguarding and Attendance Officer you will be extremely well supported, working alongside a committed team who all share the same vision of achieving more together.As the Safeguarding and Attendance Officer, you will be responsible for promoting excellent attendance and safeguarding the welfare of the students. Your role will encompass building relationships with students, parents, and staff to address attendance issues, provide support, and ensure the overall well-being of our school community.If you are engaging with excellent communication skills and have a passion for community education, this could be the role for you. As the Safeguarding and Attendance Officer you will be extremely well supported, working alongside a committed team who all share the same vision of achieving more together.The ideal Safeguarding and Attendance Officer will be someone who:

• Experienced in safeguarding within education sector (or similar)
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance around child protection
• Able to manage sensitive cases with discretion and empathy
• A great communicator who develops positive relationships with young children and adults
• Understanding of the educational, welfare and social needs of the children whom we are supporting
• Enthusiastic and committed to working as part of a team
• Consistent in a calm and fair approach
• Committed to raise the achievement of all students of all abilities
• Passionate and dedicated in helping children reach their academic potential

Talking with children openly and calmly is an essential attribute that you will hold. Having conversations about what is going well, what they may be worried about and how they may like some help to resolve issues is all part of the role. An ability to hold confidences while communicating the importance of sharing important information to keep people safe is essential.We are looking for a pragmatic and motivated Safeguarding and Attendance Officer with strong interpersonal skills to join our supportive and collaborative team.
