Sales EngineerTechnoform Group is a Twinsburg, OH-based company that designs, develops, and manufactures high-quality, low-cost, and innovative products for the construction industry. We are looking for a Sales Engineer to help us with our growth and to provide technical support to our customers. This role requires fluency in English and preferred proficiency in speaking and understanding French.Location details: This position will operate remotely out of the greater Toronto area and will be required to travel to the greater Cleveland, Ohio area.Travel of up to 60% is expected.Position Summary:

As a Technoform Business development/Sales Engineer, you will manage and grow our existing direct customer base and develop new opportunities, while also creating market demand for Technoform’s solutions through architectural promotion and education. You will drive revenue growth following Technoform’s sales process, using a consultative sales and business development approach. You will also oversee technical and application support of customer product evaluation and integration into their processes and provide first level architectural market technical support. You will work as part of a market focused team, in which your responsibilities will also include collaboration on market analysis, product development projects, and region-wide sales and marketing strategy development. Responsibilities are focused primarily on eastern Canada and may be extended to other territories as business needs require and based on the individual’s profile.YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and implement market cultivation strategies that increase product/solution awareness and generate product demand. Your focus will primarily be on developing and growing the Eastern Canadian market through a consultative selling and problem-solving approach with architects, consultants, engineers, installing contractors and window and glass fabricators. Responsibility may also be expanded into U.S. territories or western Canada.
- As part of a larger North American team, collaborate on developing region-wide market growth plans and strategies.
- Develop action plans by customer account to reach sales objectives. Increase market share by collaborating with distribution partners and proactively selling and reaching out to new markets and target customers as measured against mutually agreed upon sales goals.
- Grow demand for Technoform solutions and elevate brand awareness through architectural market education and promotion and engaging in in-territory advocacy activities that remove barriers to adoption. Identify opportunities to support growth aligned with increases in energy code stringency. Develop and nurture productive relationships with architects, specifiers, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders. Provide technical and application engineering support, and information regarding solutions. Identify new solution opportunities. Become the architectural and contracting community’s go-to resource for façade thermal performance solutions.
- Build customer confidence in our solutions and company, and maintain customer loyalty, by effectively managing customer expectations and providing excellent attentive service and efficient problem-solving.
- Create strategic relationships throughout the customer organization and work closely with customers’ sales and marketing teams to support them, assess needs, promote the use of Technoform solutions, and leverage the architectural demand generation.
- Manage customer complaints, coordinating with internal resources to ensure effective resolution and to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Research and analyze sales and market data to develop strategies, plans, forecasts, pricing.
- Contribute to Technoform innovation projects to improve our solutions and services.
- Coordinate with, and get input from, internal teams to determine pricing, scheduling, performance, and technical requirements, and externally with partners, clients, vendors, etc.
- Assist in the development of promotional materials and tradeshow exhibits. Attend local and regional industry tradeshows, conventions and association meetings.
- Position requires approximately 60% travel, including some overseas.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate or undergraduate degree in science, engineering, architecture, building construction or equivalent. A degree in sales management may be acceptable, if combined with proven technical aptitude.
- 5 years or more experience in increasingly responsible technical sales and business development positions, preferably in the fenestration or construction industry.
- Fluent in both English and French to support business development in all areas of Canada.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. Ability to analyze data and develop plans and strategies based on this analysis.
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Understanding of principles and techniques of business development.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to build an industry presence, create recognition, and support the Technoform brand.
- Continual learner, with a thirst for building knowledge and skills, and broadening experience.
- Self-starter with an ability to work independently and in a matrixed and process-oriented organization to accomplish results. Ability to identify gaps and proactively work to close them.
- Possess entrepreneurial skills to handle daily customer and company needs and work well in a team environment.
- Experience in sales planning and forecasting and associated budget development.
- Develops and works within budgetary constraints and manages both personal and customer daily activities.
