Requisition ID: 201032Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.As a Scotia Securities Inc, Mutual Funds (SAM-MF) Investment Field Consultants, you will contribute to the success of Scotia Asset Management by executing sales strategies within assigned territory with the end goal of driving Assets Under Management (AUM) growth through retail branches while promoting the adherence of the Global Sales Principals.Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Assist in developing a regional business plan that will result in a) increased assets under administration, b) stronger market share, c) a high knowledge level among bank registered reps of Scotia Funds and their benefits to clients. Success will be determined by the incumbent’s ability to achieve sales growth of mutual fund products throughout the Retail Bank Branch channel.
  • Act as the primary field resource for the registered representative sales force. The main objectives are increasing knowledge of mutual funds, confidence in product positioning, and application of sales strategies/tactics and Global Sales Principles.
  • Assess relevant data and information to implement territory sales strategies, identify business opportunities, and provide input and assistance in resolving barriers to business growth. Based on input from the field, contribute ideas and tactics back to the Scotia Asset Management team.
  • Motivate sales staff through presentations, workshops and seminars to increase confidence and awareness of existing and new Scotia Fund solutions.
  • Act as an effective, professional resource, providing expert and timely assistance for sales officers. This includes daily seminars and one-on-one meetings.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Previous experience in a mutual funds and sales environment, specifically in the financial services industry
  • Considerable knowledge of competitive sales and marketing in the mutual fund business.
  • Well-rounded interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships cross-functionally within Scotiabank.
  • Strong presentation skills (including use of technology), ability to think and respond quickly, and able to adapt to change within a rapidly growing and complex area of financial services
  • Proven success in coaching and influencing
  • Previous Experience with the use of the Microsoft office suites (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • You’re goal oriented and results driven. You can work independently as a motivated self-starter with minimal supervision and as part of a larger team.
  • Successfully completed the Personal Financial Planning (PFP®) designation and/or a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation and Canadian Securities Course or equivalents
