Job Description

Do you want to make a difference? Proudly part of the Save the Children Australia Group and global movement, we’re here to make sure that children and young people have their rights met and thrive, in all their diversity.

With the child’s voice at the centre, we provide quality services to children and their caregivers in every state and territory, and across regions, remote areas and capital cities. From our programs to our support services – this is the place to realise your purpose.

A place to make a difference:

In this part time (2-4 days per week, negotiable), contract opportunity until 30 June 2025 based at our Armadale office, you’ll support the Project Support Officer with the day-to-day management of our whole of community family and domestic violence prevention program. As part of our Armadale team, you’ll report to our Team Leader.

You will make a difference by supporting the:

  • Collaboration with schools to build the capacity of their teachers to embed family and domestic violence (FDV) primary prevention techniques into school culture, everyday classroom activities and deliver an ongoing FDV prevention workshop to students

  • Collaboration with parents and caregivers to co-design with schools a FDV prevention workshop to be delivered by classroom teachers
  • Collaboration with student leaders to design a FDV Prevention community messaging product

A place to feel valued:

You might not have the qualifications, but you have a passion to work in the FDV space within a child centred, strengths-based approach. You understand the impact of FDV on women and children, and most importantly are aware of the additional impacts and barriers experienced by CaLD women and children.

This role requires:

  • A strong desire to learn and develop in the field of FDV
  • An understanding of CaLD communities and families, and how FDV might manifest in CaLD communities
  • An understanding of the Rights of Children
  • Good teamwork, communication, and data collection skills
  • Current driver’s licence

A place to belong:

At 54 reasons, we invest in the development and wellbeing of our people. Our workforce is approximately 600 people strong, and proudly diverse, whether in race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, sexuality, cultures and beliefs.
