  • Collaborate with staff members to devise effective behaviour management strategies.
  • Work with Pastoral Support Workers to facilitate implementation of such strategies.
  • Implement appropriate behaviour in and out of class, ensuring order throughout school.
  • Manage effective use of Isolation Unit.
  • Support and implement overall school behaviour policy.
  • Foster a positive learning environment.

Candidate specification for School Behaviour Lead:

  • Candidates hoping to leave the classroom or begin to build experience with the view of pursuing SENDCO or Assistant SENDCO roles are encouraged to apply.
  • School-based experience: teaching, SEN and/or Behaviour capacity (essential).
  • Academic background in Social Work, Psychology, Education desirable
  • Safeguarding certification and/or experience desirable
  • Resilience to challenging behaviour on a daily basis.
  • Strong time-management and organisation essential.

As School Behaviour Lead, you will play a crucial role in supporting students behaviourally in and outside the classroom, as well as managing the Isolation Unit and overseeing the implementation of behaviour management strategies. You will work closely with classroom teachers, SLT members and Pastoral Support Workers, with whom you will coordinate to enforce behaviour management. Ideal for candidates hoping to transition out of the classroom while maintaining direct relationships with students in a non-teaching capacity.
