We are seeking a Scientist II to join our Customer Therapeutics Team, reporting to the Customer Therapeutics Lead (Enterprise). This role involves close collaboration with a variety of professionals including Scientists, Scientific Liaisons, and our Go-To-Market, Product, Engineering, and Discovery teams. You will support customer proof-of-concept case studies through data extraction and analysis on ASCEND applications, identify opportunities to enhance these applications, detect and address data gaps, and contribute to the creation of innovative solutions. The ideal candidate is a scientifically rigorous professional with excellent problem-solving, communication and technical data analysis skills, who is eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.BenchSci is a remote-first organization. At this moment, we are welcoming applicants from Canada, and the US for this position.You Will:

  • Leverage subject matter expertise in preclinical drug development to collaborate with scientists across a variety of therapeutic areas, ensuring data accuracy and timely delivery of impactful results aligned with customer needs.
  • Utilize SQL, Python and Excel to extract insights from large datasets, identifying opportunities to enhance data depth, breadth, and accuracy.
  • Proactively identify gaps in data and product offerings, providing reports and recommendations for improvement in collaboration with Engineering and Product teams.
  • Collaborate with Go-to-Market teams to understand customer needs and leverage your scientific expertise to support the development of strategies that showcase the capabilities of the ASCEND platform.
  • Keep up to date with current biomedical research to guide technology development

You Have:

  • PhD or MSc with 3+ years of relevant bench experience in the biological sciences (Cardiometabolic disease experience preferred).
  • Experience with SQL, Python, and/or R for accessing, extracting, and analyzing large datasets.
  • Familiarity with human disease-centered research and preclinical drug discovery and development.
  • Proven ability to independently drive projects to completion and develop data-driven solutions for complex problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with different teams and be an effective team member.
  • Excellent communication skills, including articulating scientific insights clearly and effectively to both specialized experts and non-specialized stakeholders within and outside the organization.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills, with a keen eye for detail
