It provides a comprehensive cancer control program for the people of British Columbia by working with community partners to deliver a range of oncology services, including prevention, early detection, diagnosis and treatment, research, education, supportive care, rehabilitation, and palliative care. For more information, visit .The BC Cancer Research Institute (BCCRI) is seeking a Scientist or Senior Scientist at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in a multi-disciplinary program of epidemiological research. The candidate must be committed to building an integrative research program within CCR at BC Cancer, emphasizing cancer etiology using population-based studies and development of novel prevention approaches to reduce cancer incidence. The position at the BCCRI will be at the rank of Scientist or a Senior Scientist depending on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate, who is expected to have a competitive profile that will enable a partnered Assistant or Associate Professor appointment at an affiliated university such as the University of British Columbia or Simon Fraser University.The candidate will have a PhD in epidemiology, biostatistics, statistics or related degree. In addition to a strong record of research productivity in the field, the applicant is expected to have a clear vision for an independent research program, interest in collaborative research projects.The candidate will also need to show demonstrated aptitude, enthusiasm and ability to achieve excellence in teaching and will be expected to participate in the undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate teaching activities at the partner university in their field of expertise. The successful candidate will also present a clear approach to foster equity, diversity, and inclusion principles in their research program, laboratory environment, and teaching.Equity and diversity are essential to academic excellence. Job Type: Regular, Full-Time
Salary: $155,327 -232,992/per year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part-time roles.
