The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.Position OverviewThe incumbent is responsible for providing clerical support to the Manager(s) of Patient Care including processing job postings and related paperwork, maintaining position control, registering new hires in orientation sessions, maintaining staffing baselines and ensuring that the Manager(s) is/are aware of staffing levels, maintaining information and employee profiles in the ESP staff scheduling system, updating the day to day schedule changes in ESP and running staffing reports as requested. Coordinates appointment calendar for the Manager(s) and performs other clerical duties as assigned.Experience

  • Minimum two years previous related experience, preferably in a health care setting.
  • Preference will be given to those candidates with previous staff scheduling experience.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Complete Grade 12 education, Manitoba standards, required.
  • Successful completion of a recognized secretarial training program required.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Certification/Licensure/RegistrationNot ApplicableQualifications and Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and decision-making skills required.
  • Must have excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Typing 50 wpm, medical terminology (pass mark 75%) required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) required.
  • Knowledge of Environment for Scheduling Personnel (ESP) or other service-based staff scheduling systems preferred.
  • Must be able to independently maintain an office and demonstrate independent decision making and judgement pertaining to administrative tasks.
  • Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, beliefs and practices.
