The department provides services throughout the Central zone of the Nova Scotia Health Authority consisting of over 12,000 pieces of equipment in 250 departments spread over 9 facilities, resulting in approximately 25,000 work orders per year.Additionally, the secretary provides support specific the biomedical engineering environment. The secretary co-ordinates with the biomedical engineering technologists to ensure that service requests are seen by the appropriate service personnel in a timely manner. They will also be responsible for ordering parts, tools and other material used by the department to service clinical equipment, as well arranging the shipment of equipment to external service providers.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • One year Secretarial/Office Administration program or one year related experience.
  • Previous experience an asset.
  • Good judgment and initiative is essential to maintain a high level of organization and function.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
