Position: SEMH Teacher
Location: Shropshire, SEMH Specialist School
Contract: Full-time

We offer an adapted, engaging curriculum designed to meet the diverse needs of our students, encouraging personal growth, resilience, and positive outcomes.The Role:As a teacher in our SEMH school, you will play a vital role in supporting students who exhibit a range of behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties. This is a challenging but incredibly rewarding role that requires:

• Building strong, positive relationships with students who may have experienced trauma or difficulties in mainstream education.
• Delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that support both academic and emotional development.
• Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, including mental health professionals, teaching assistants, and external agencies, to provide tailored support.
• Implementing strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour, fostering a safe and respectful learning environment.

What We Are Looking For:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience working with students who have SEMH needs, or in a similar setting.
• A positive, resilient attitude and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• A deep understanding of the impact of trauma and adverse childhood experiences on behaviour and learning.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a passion for helping students succeed both academically and personally.
