Job descriptionSEN Class Teacher | Southwark | Camberwell | Long-TermProspero teaching are currently recruiting for a SEN Class Teacher to join an “Ofsted OUTSTANDING” special needs school in SouthwarkThe role will consist of working within a Key stage 5 class of 8 students with mixed Complex Needs, PMLD and Autism, there will be additional support available in the form of a team of experienced TAs and Health Care Professionals.The position will be Full-Time, Long-Term starting immediately and will be at a minimum for the remainder of the academic year.DAILY RATE: £160-£220 (Based on Scale) Paid Weekly

Contract Type: Full Time, Long Term
Start Date: ImmediateThe Successful Applicants will have:

• QTS/QTLS or equivalent
• Previous experience with Key stage 5 students
• Previous experience working with Learning Disabilities, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Complex Needs and/or Physical/Mental/Sensory Impairments
• Strong Behaviour Management Skills
• Ability to effectively communicate with students, staff and parents/carers
• Hold an enhanced Child and Adult barred list DBS Certificate

The role will consist of:

• Delivering varied and engaging lessons to a small class of 8 students with mixed very complex needs, PMLD and Autism
• Teaching to a class of varying needs including varied types of communication(non-verbal & physical) – semi-formal curriculum
• Work closely with students, their parents/carers and other members of staff to make sure that the students are happy and learning well
• Adapting the syllabus according to the individual student’s EHCP
• Make appropriate use of a range of monitoring and assessment strategies to evaluate pupil’s progress
