Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting its next group of teaching assistants for the 2025/2026 school year to support and nurture students with special educational needs (SEN). These needs may include mental health issues, physical disabilities, and emotional or behavioural difficulties.A patient and understanding persona is a key aspect of this role. You will support students aged 5 to 16 and play a critical role in their academic success.Position Details:

• September 2025 start date
• Work available in Bristol, Bath, and Gloucestershire
• 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (may vary depending on the school)
• Monday to Friday, term time only
• Opportunity to transition to a permanent contract for the right candidates

What You’ll Do:

• Support students with SEN needs, either in small groups or on a one-to-one basis
• Work closely with other teaching assistants to support the learning and development of classroom students
• Build trusting relationships with students, ensuring they feel safe and supported
• Assist with learning activities and classwork, providing help where and when needed

The Ideal Candidate:

• Someone with a genuine passion for education and teaching, whether starting fresh or continuing from a previous role
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• Experience is not essential—if you have the passion and drive to succeed, we’d love to hear from you
• Previous experience with SEN or challenging behaviour (personally or professionally) is highly desirable, but not required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
