As part of our dynamic team, you will play a vital role in the growth and development of young students with special needs. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide personalised assistance, promoting a love for learning, and contributing to the overall academic development of students in diverse subjects.While prior experience with SEN children is beneficial, we also welcome committed individuals who are eager to make a difference.As a SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will be to:

  • Collaborate with the class teacher to plan, supervise, and execute engaging and creative lessons tailored to diverse learning needs.
  • Demonstrate positive behaviour and effectively manage challenging behaviours when they arise.
  • Offer personalised one-on-one assistance to students with special educational needs, adapting teaching methods to accommodate individual learning styles.
  • Facilitate small group interventions to provide targeted support and reinforce learning objectives.
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment by assisting with behaviour management and fostering a sense of belonging among students.
  • Implement strategies to support students with additional learning needs, ensuring they have equal access to educational opportunities.

Requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant role:

  • Hold the legal right to work in the UK.
  • Possess a driving license and have access to a car (preferred).
  • Meet strict safer recruitment background checks.
  • Hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate for children.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding.
  • Exhibit adaptability, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for working with young people from diverse backgrounds.
