SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role in StockportTeaching Personnel is seeking a SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated “Good” secondary school in Stockport. This is a full-time position, starting ASAP and continuing until the end of the academic year, with the opportunity for a permanent role based on performance. The pay for this role is £419.25 – £500 per week.Role OverviewThis position is ideal for individuals passionate about working with students who have additional learning needs. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all students can access the curriculum and reach their full potential. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver tailored interventions and help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.Key Responsibilities

  • One-to-One Support: Provide individualised assistance to students with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, and moderate learning difficulties.
  • Group Intervention Support: Lead small-group sessions to help students improve their social, emotional, and academic skills.
  • Classroom Assistance: Support the class teacher by helping to differentiate lessons, ensuring students can engage with the content at their level.
  • Behaviour and Emotional Support: Help manage behaviour in the classroom and promote positive emotional well-being.
  • Implementing Support Plans: Assist in the delivery of personalised education plans (EHCPs) and monitor progress.
  • Encouraging Independence: Foster independence in students by building their confidence and life skills.
  • Collaboration with Staff: Work alongside teachers, the SENCO, and external specialists to ensure the best outcomes for students.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience Supporting Children or Young People with SEN (Desirable): This can include experience in a school, care setting, or youth work.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
