Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)

Pay Rate: £83 – £95 per day (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Day-to-dayAre you passionate about supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) and making a positive impact in their educational journey?GSL Education are currently seeking dedicated and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistants to join schools in Wombwell. This is a wonderful opportunity to work closely with students who require additional support and help create a nurturing, inclusive learning environment.As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students with special educational needs (SEN).Responsibilities as a SEN Teaching Assistant:

• Support students with SEN in the classroom and assist with their academic, social, and emotional development.
• Provide one-to-one or small group support tailored to individual learning needs.
• Work closely with teachers to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and ensure students’ needs are met.
• Support students with behavioural or communication difficulties, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Assist with classroom activities, including preparing resources and aiding with lesson delivery.
• Monitor and track students’ progress, providing feedback to teachers.

Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant:

• Previous experience working with students with SEN or in an educational or care setting is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient and nurturing approach.
• A good understanding of SEN, including autism, dyslexia, and behavioural disorders.
• Ability to adapt to different student needs and work independently as well as part of a team.
• A valid enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
• A full, up-to-date CV with clear explanations for any employment gaps in the past 10 years.
