This is a dedicated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school that provides a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for children with a range of complex needs. Their staff are passionate about making a real difference in the lives of our students and their families.We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SEND Teacher to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with students with diverse and complex learning needs, delivering tailored teaching strategies that promote academic progress, independence, and personal development. This role begins April 2025.Duties as SEND Teacher:Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to meet the unique learning needs of SEND students.Implement and review individualised learning plans (EHCPs) for students, ensuring they receive the support they need.Use specialist teaching approaches, including sensory integration, communication aids, and alternative learning strategies.Foster a positive and structured learning environment that promotes confidence and independence.Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists, SENCOs, teaching assistants, and families, to support holistic development.Use a range of communication strategies such as Makaton, PECS, AAC, or other relevant methods where appropriate.Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching methods as needed to ensure success.Ensure the safeguarding and well-being of all students in line with school policies.Ideal SEND Teacher:Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in a SEND setting or special school.Has a strong understanding of SEND best practices, including autism, ADHD, PMLD, SEMH, and communication difficulties.Is skilled in using assistive technology and alternative teaching strategies.Demonstrates patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach to teaching.Can build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families as a SEND Teacher.Is committed to continuous professional development in SEND education.Why Step Teachers?With a rich history spanning over two decades, our teacher recruitment agency proudly serves North London, East London, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Oxfordshire, Cornwall, and Devon.
